We know this is especially true for the Owners of Salons and Barbershops. So our aim is to take a load of things off your hands (and off your minds).

We ensure you comply with HMRC, we become your trusted advisor and finally, ensure you remain in control of your business.

We do this in three ways:

We produce your Monthly Accounts Pack so you can understand your income, control your costs, and so steer your Salon to reach your goals.

#3. BY PROVIDING GREAT ADVICE

Being with you, every step of the way

Our ongoing business & tax advice includes tax minimisation, how much tax to put aside, business control and VAT planning

  • From ensuring your book-keeping is working in the background (using reports from your POS system like Phorest or SalonIQ; bills you’ve scanned using the App we give you; and a direct feed from your business bank account)
  • to running your payroll, producing and submitting your MTD-VAT returns, and filing your Accounts
  • we do all of this in the background, so you can concentrate on doing what you do best.

Information when you need it

  • You’ll have monthly accounts so you have visibility on what’s going on in your business.
  • You’ll know how much your VAT bill is going to be
  • how much your payroll is costing you and what tax you owe
  • and more importantly what makes up your tax bill

And we’ll help you to read and understand these reports so you can really take control.

Your tax strategy

  • We make sure you have a clear idea of how much tax you're likely to owe during the year and so how much cash to put aside.
  • We'll advise you how to pay yourself each month in the most tax efficient way (either by salary, dividend, pension or loan; or not at all if re-investing in the business is a better option).
  • During our twice yearly tax planning processes (which we undertake around September and January each year), we look at your business and personal income positions, to ensure you minimise the amount of tax you'll need to pay.
  • This means that by the end of March each year, you'll have a pretty good idea of how much tax you'll have to pay when it becomes due the following January.

Keeping you safe

  • We continually monitor the activity of HMRC
  • ensuring that you are configured (or reconfigured) in a way to protect you against any new legislation or court cases taken against other Salons in the industry - especially around Contractor (Chair Renter) and Payroll.

Your payroll

  • We take the payroll admin off your hands
  • preparing the payslips and letting you know how much to pay each employee (and HMRC of course).
  • At year end, we run all the usual payroll report like your P60’s.
  • Your staff all get their own payroll portal, where they can access their own payslips, P60’s and so on. But it can also be used for them to request holidays and for you to record any sick leave.

Your contractors (chair and room renters)

  • We’ll help sort out your contractor invoicing each month.
  • We do all the accounting for them and keep you on the right side of HMRC.
