Kickstart Scheme opens

The scheme, launched today 02 Sep 20 is now open for employers to apply, but this is unlikely to work for most salons in the UK because you need to be offering at least 30 work placements.

However, for the larger salons in the UK, key points are:

• employ someone 16-24, who is claiming Universal Credit and at risk of long term unemployment
• pay them NMW for 25 hours per week
• you only need to sign them up for 6 months but if they work out, keep them on
• you claim their wages, NI and pension costs back from the Government
• there is also £1,500 per job placement available for setup costs, support and training
